Green initiative started off as early as in the early 2000s. Throughout the recent years many companies had participle in it. Companies going green means to create a cleaner and healthier environment not just our generation but also for the generations that to come. This can reduces harmful pollution, conserving energy, protecting the earth’s ecological balance and reducing consumption/waste. Global warming is on the rise each year, if the world’s carbon emission continues unchecked, atmospheric temperatures will continue to rise. As a result the planet not only get hotter but it will also suffer from rising sea levels, more powerful storms, droughts that lead to food shortages and others extreme conditions.

On 12 December 2015, 196 counties were approached and bought together in Paris to negotiate by representatives at 21st conference of the parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). As of February 2018, 195 UNFCCC members had signed the agreement and 175 have become party to it. The aim was to target global climate change threat by keeping a global temperature rise this century well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase even further to 1.5 degrees Celsius. In this agreement each country determines plans and regularly reports its own contribution it should make in order to mitigate global warming.


As individuals, people can help by taking action to reduce personal carbon emissions. Such as burning fossil fuels like natural gas, oil, coal or gasoline. Or even performing task as easy as reduce, reuse and recycle. Getting a reusable water bottle instead of disposables. Buying products with minimal packing and recycle paper, plastic, newspaper, glass and aliminum cans.
But to fully address the threat of global warming, action still need to be done on the elected leaders to support and implement a comprehensive set of climate solutions.
Such as expand the use of renewable energy and transform energy system to one that is cleaner and less dependent on coat and other fossil fuels.

Placing limits on the amount of the carbon that polluters are allowed to emit and building a clean energy economy by investing in efficient energy technologies, industries and approaches.

GCF is one of the few leading companies to invest in carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction project known as Climate Savers launched by World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature back in 2014. A project in rising awareness to the public/corporation to go carbon-free or reduced carbon sources of energy.

Carbon-free sources of energy have their own associated of impacts. These sums up to the technologies generate energy without producing and emitting carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. These sources include solar power, wind power, geothermal energy and low-head hydropower.

After involving in various projects, GCF decided to initiate their own green environment projects, with the objective in mind to create more public awareness about global warming. Issues such as climate change, over logging.



It is known as wind turbines. The energy in the wind turns two or three propeller-like blade around a rotor. The rotor is connected to the main shaft which spins a generator to create electricity. Part of GCF CSR, GCF was involved in building wind farm at London Array. It was one of the UK largest offshore wind farm.


One of the biggest green environment project which GCF had cooperated together with some other corporate such as….. Hydropower plants are well known to capture the energy of the falling water to generate electricity. A turbine converts the kinetic energy. The generator converts the mechanical energy from the turbine into electrical energy. GCF was proud to be part of Yukon in building one of the Hydropower plants back in May 2017.

GCF main focus is offering a much better solution to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in industry areas. GCF is performing Carbon capture and storage (CCS) (or carbon capture and sequestration or carbon control and sequestration. It is the process of capturing waste carbon dioxide (CO2) from large point sources, such as fossil fuel power plants, transporting it to a storage site, and depositing it where it will no t enter the atmosphere, normally an underground geological formation. The aim is to prevent the release of large quantities of CO2 into the atmosphere (from fossil fuel use in power generation and other industries). It is a potential means of mitigating the contribution of fossil fuel emissions to global warming and ocean acidification.

A carbon dioxide scrubber is a device which absorbs carbon dioxide (CO2). It is used to treat exhaust gases from industrial plants or from exhaled air in life support systems such as rebreathers or in spacecraftsubmersible craft or airtight chambers. Carbon dioxide scrubbers are also used in controlled atmosphere (CA) storage. They have also been researched for carbon capture.
